Speaking anonymously to the BBC, a senior government official said the police had received more than 6,000 complaints since the start of the violence on 3 May and the delay in dealing with this case could be because of the “small size of Manipur police”. Also, he said if the government had received the video earlier, the accused would have been arrested sooner.
