Nigerian student Victoria Osemene calls herself “the only black female in Kharkiv, Ukraine”.
When residents and students fled amid the Russian invasion last year, she decided to stay behind.
Over the last year, Ms Osemene has battled shelling, blackouts and a cold winter, saying: “I became Ukrainian and I had to support them.'”
