Housing Secretary Michael Gove has told the Commons developers must sign a contract within the next six weeks to guarantee they will fix unsafe cladding.

He told MPs there would be consequences for house builders who refuse to sign contracts to remedy unsafe building cladding.

He said he was doing this under powers that had been previously granted to him under the Building Safety Act.
