{"id":4576,"date":"2022-07-26T18:54:39","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T18:54:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fusefornews.com\/2022\/07\/26\/covid-19-giving-birth-in-2020-was-isolating-and-lonely\/"},"modified":"2022-07-26T18:54:39","modified_gmt":"2022-07-26T18:54:39","slug":"covid-19-giving-birth-in-2020-was-isolating-and-lonely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fusefornews.com\/?p=4576","title":{"rendered":"Covid 19: &#8216;Giving birth in 2020 was isolating and lonely&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Women have spoken about how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-london-62001781\" class=\"ssrcss-moz6zf-InlineLink e1no5rhv0\">they gave birth in &#8220;nightmare&#8221; circumstances due to the pandemic restrictions.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Sophie&#8217;s baby Margot was born at 38 weeks and immediately taken to intensive care at Whipps Cross Hospital in east London because she needed to be resuscitated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Although Sophie and her partner were able to visit briefly a couple of hours later, after 24 hours they were moved off intensive care and to a ward, where there was no visiting in August 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Margot was on the ward for a week and Sophie was alone and exhausted trying to care for her, with nobody even to hold the newborn, and midwives unable to help because they were so busy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Whipps Cross Hospital said: &#8220;We sympathise with families over the visiting restrictions put in place during the pandemic.
