on unsold Women&#8217;s World Cup TV rights, with only 50 days until it begins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-4\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-4.0\">The UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy said it was their responsibility to &#8220;fully mobilise all stakeholders&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-5\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-5.0\">The World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, starts on 20 July.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-6.0\">In a joint statement, the five countries &#8220;acknowledged with concern&#8221; that an agreement was not in place, but said they are &#8220;confident&#8221; Fifa and broadcasters&#8217; will &#8220;find a common path&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-7.0\">The statement was signed by the minister responsible for sport in those countries, including UK Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-8\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-8.0\">This month Infantino threatened not to broadcast the event in the UK, France, Spain, Germany and Italy, describing their &#8220;disappointing&#8221; TV rights offers as a &#8220;slap in the face&#8221; of the players and &#8220;all women worldwide&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-9.0\">He said European broadcasters had offered world football&#8217;s governing body $1m-$10m (\u00a3800,000-\u00a38m) for the rights, compared with $100m-$200m for the men&#8217;s World Cup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-10.0\">Rights offers for previous tournaments were bundled together with other events, including the men&#8217;s World Cup, but Fifa has now separated the bidding process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-11\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-11.0\">Infantino said two weeks ago that discussions were &#8220;moving&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-12\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-12.0\">Former Fifa Council member Moya Dodd has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/65466867\" class=\"story-body__internal-link\" title=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-12.$link-2\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-12.$link-2.0\">criticised Infantino&#8217;s stance<\/span><\/a><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-12.3\">, saying Fifa has historically undervalued the women&#8217;s game and it saying it was &#8220;a bit rich to scold broadcasters for underpaying&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-13\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-13.0\">The BBC held the sole broadcast rights in the UK for the 2019 Women&#8217;s World Cup but shared the rights for the recent men&#8217;s World Cup in Qatar with ITV.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.0\">It has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/sport\/football\/news\/women-world-cup-tv-coverage-29359041\" class=\"story-body__external-link\" title=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2.0\">widely been reported <\/span><span class=\"gs-u-ml- gel-icon\" style=\"height:15px;width:15px;\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2.1\"><svg viewbox=\"0 0 32 32\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2.1.0\"><title data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2.1.0.0\">external-link<\/title><path d=\"M12 0v5h11.5l-5 5H0v22h22V17.5l-2 2V30H2V12h14.5l-7.8 7.7 3.6 3.6L27 8.5V20h5V0H12z\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.$link-2.1.0.1\"\/><\/svg><\/span><\/a><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-14.3\">that the BBC and ITV will share broadcasting rights for this summer&#8217;s tournament, although no announcement has been made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-15\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-15.0\">A BBC Sport spokesperson said it did not comment on sports rights negotiations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-16\"><span data-reactid=\".9etohwgk0a.0.0.0.1.$paragraph-16.0\">Last year the Women&#8217;s World Cup and European Championship were added to the &#8216;crown jewels&#8217;
