Labour’s national campaign coordinator Shabana Mahmood was asked earlier about rent freezes – an idea that’s been backed by Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.<\/p>\n

She said building new homes will be a better way to “fix the problem” of housing shortfalls, explaining that other proposed solutions are a “tweak” which will not get to the “heart of the problem”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
