{"id":136,"date":"2022-06-13T11:42:18","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T11:42:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fusefornews.com\/?p=136"},"modified":"2022-06-13T12:52:18","modified_gmt":"2022-06-13T12:52:18","slug":"memory-boxes-help-families-remember-lost-voices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fusefornews.com\/?p=136","title":{"rendered":"Memory Boxes Help Families Remember Lost Voices"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A PhD student has been creating audio memory boxes for hospice patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isaac Gibson is studying at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Queen\u2019s University Belfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of his research, he recorded interviews with hospice patients and combined them with fitting music and sound effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each recording is accessed through a handmade wooden box, designed to resemble a vintage radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose was to create individual listening experiences for patients and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isaac contacted Marie Curie hospice with the idea after first recording a series of interviews with his terminally-ill grandfather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has created 10 memory boxes for Marie Curie hospice patients in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Video journalist: Niall McCracken<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A PhD student has been creating audio memory boxes for hospice patients.
